How can the Conference do more to support the daily operations of local churches?

This is the question that the RMC staff has been asking, particularly in light of hiring Laura Gurney as the RMC’s new Director of Operations. One of the reasons why we hired Laura for this position is because of her administrative expertise. As anyone at First Congregational UCC in Greeley will tell you, Laura is focused on church systems, and she has a talent for helping the local church be more organized so that it can be more effective within its community.

How can we take what Laura knows and pass it along to all of our churches? One approach that we’re trying out is a new monthly Zoom series called Ministry Mechanics. Each month, Laura will lead a conversation about a different ministry operations topic. This Sunday, August 23rd, join her for a roundtable discussion on church finances. And, keep your eye on the RMC’s Event Calendar. Laura will be hosting Ministry Mechanics on the 4th Sunday of each month to unpack a new topic that might help your church smooth out and simplify basic operations.
