In the United Church of Christ, Committees on Ministry set the expectations for affiliated Authorized Ministers to maintain their UCC standing and provide support to make meeting these expectations achievable. The RMC COM works to balance the desire for consistent expectations across the denomination with an approach to encourage Lifelong Learning. Lifelong Learning recognizes learning as a responsibility that continues in the forms of education, experience, and exposure throughout a minister’s lifetime.
Standing Expectations in the RMC include elements that vary in frequency and opportunities for learning: Annual Information Reviews, Periodic Vocational Support (Clergy Check-ins), Boundary Training, Racial Justice/Anti-Racism Training, and Continued Learning. Find more details about each of these in the Standing Expectations document.
As an aid to finding timely, pre-approved Boundary and Racial Justice/Anti-Racism Training opportunities, the COM maintains the list below. The list is updated frequently. Remember, when you complete a training, please email your certificate to post-auth-reg@rmcucc.org to be recorded.
