The Antoinette Brown Society, formed in 2015, carries on the tradition of the Antoinette Brown Award in honoring pioneers and innovators in our midst: new church start pastors, military chaplains, seminary deans, ecumenical leaders, pastors, preachers, evangelists, and more.
Each year, clergy women from all across the country gather to celebrate the legacy of Antoinette Brown as well as the work of UCC women clergy.
The National setting of the UCC has sent a special request to clergy women in the western region of the UCC: We are hopeful that we can increase our western region representation at this, both with lay authorized ministers – and with ordained clergy womxn.
Each conference has been invited to send one or more to our Antoinette Brown Society gathering. In addition, we have been able to secure extra rooms for the night preceding the event (Sept 28), which should help our western region folks get there!
The early bird rates have been extended through Friday (July 24). We still have scholarship funds available!
This year’s ABS Clergywomxn* Leadership Event, “Rooted, Restored and Rising” will be held 9/29-10/2 at the Stateview Hotel, 2451 Alumni Drive in Raleigh, North Carolina.
