Vista Grande Community Church UCC showed up big for Pride month in Colorado Springs! We had a table at Youth Pride, which is an annual resource fair that happens on June 6th – we were the only church in the room! We also had a booth at PrideFest on June 13th and 14th, and we marched in the local Colorado Springs Pride parade on the 14th.
Finally, I had a visit with Inside Out Youth Services on June 23rd, hosting a discussion on religion and making sure the LGBTQ+ kids and adults know that Christianity can be proudly inclusive, non-judgmental and non-doctrinaire, and that I’m around if any of them want to talk with a queer pastor.
