Each year, the Annual Celebration Planning Committee selects a recipient for the Annual Celebration Special Offering. Through this offering, we’re able to use our time together to learn more about local organizations that share the RMC’s values, support their work, and strengthen our community ties. We recognize that the work of the church means collaborating with organizations that have similar missions, and the Special Offering is a great way for us to build these ongoing justice networks.
Since we’re meeting in Utah this year, the Planning Committee wanted to select an organization that’s local to Provo, and we also wanted this decision to be ultimately up to our IMA planners. We’re excited to announce that this year’s Special Offering will be given to Encircle Provo, a Utah-based non-profit that provides affirming therapy, safe housing, drop-in services, creative programming, and support groups for the LGBTQ+ community in Provo and across Utah. Encircle is committed to creating safe spaces in which LGBTQ+ youth can open up and be themselves, while also offering resources to parents of LGBTQ+ youth. The Planning Committee is impressed with all the ways in which Encircle is helping LGBTQ+ youth and families thrive, and we’re excited to use the special offering to support their ongoing work, which is especially important in our current political moment and in the state of Utah. Join us as we celebrate and lift up the mission of Encircle! To make your contribution to the special offering, please visit this Zeffy page. To learn more about Encircle, visit their website.
