A Moment of Grief and Reflection

With grief so deep it defies expression, I join you and the community of Boulder in mourning the mass shooting which took place on March 22, 2021.  And like many who lived in Colorado in 1999, I too, am reliving the moments of the Columbine High School shooting — a cultural watershed in American life — and the event which called me into ministry.

On Tuesday morning I am inviting us to join together as a Conference for moments of grief, reflection, and to whatever extent possible, a commitment toward action.  This meeting will commence at 11:00 AM, join the meeting here.

Please join me in praying for all of those killed or injured in this horrific event and their families, for the police officer killed and his family, for those inside the store who have now seen things they will never unsee and the trauma they will experience again and again, for the store employees, the leaders of the town, and for every one of our clergy member and church leaders of the two churches nearest this event:  Community UCC in Boulder, and 1st Congregational UCC in Boulder.

Come Holy Spirit, Come.
