Cornerstone Fund investors allow our organization to be a catalyst for ministries to thrive. They allow us to offer loans to churches and faith-based nonprofit organizations creating change in their communities. Our documentary with Trinity – UCC Chicago, “Walking the Journey with You,” is an inspirational look at what happens when powerful missions come together to create change.
The Cornerstone Fund is a financing partner for Trinity United Church of Christ – Chicago’s Imani Village. Imani Village is a multi-phased effort designed to create a sustainable, ecofriendly, mixed use, green intergenerational community committed to lifelong education, health and economic development, and addressing the four foundational pillars of economic justice, environmental justice, health equity, and mass incarceration. Examples of those features (many of which already exist in some form) include:
- A garden which allows them to distribute healthy food to neighbors in need
- Solar power job training for community members
- Senior housing
- Youth education and development
- Childcare facilities
- Supportive services for people leaving the justice system
