This year, Brooklyn McBride and Rev. Selena Wright have been leading a Youth Leadership Cohort for the Rocky Mountain Conference. Last summer, students were nominated by their pastors to participate in this leadership program. In the fall, each of them met with Brooklyn and Selena to share about how they each want to serve their local church. At the end of January, they gathered for a weekend at La Foret, where they spent the whole time brainstorming project ideas, creating project timelines, and writing out pitches to bring back to their church leadership. They came up with an incredible range of projects – clothing drives, choral workshops, community events, and more!
The students will be working throughout this spring semester on completing their projects, and Brooklyn and Selena will be checking in with them once a month for support and encouragement. In June, this group will be at the Rocky Mountain Conference Annual Celebration, where they will present their projects to the Conference and participate in the Youth Track!
