An Invitation to Empower Youth Through Transformative Summer Camps at The Refuge at La Foret
Dear Ministers and Ministries of the Rocky Mountain Conference of the United Church of Christ,
I hope this message finds you well. As the summer months approach, we are excited to invite the youth in your church community to experience a transformative and restorative retreat at The Refuge at La Foret. Our summer camp programs offer a unique opportunity for young people to step away from the daily pressures of life and engage in meaningful experiences that nurture their physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, social, and environmental well-being.
At The Refuge at La Foret, we offer a safe and welcoming space for youth to connect with themselves, each other, and the world around them. Rooted in the values of well-being, community, transformation, imagination, and nature, our camps are designed to inspire personal growth and create lasting bonds through a supportive and fun-filled environment.

Our vision is simple yet powerful: to create a brave space for hopeful people to imagine, co-create, and experience the world as it could be, together in a transformational community. We are committed to nurturing every participant’s sense of belonging and well-being through our diverse programs, which take place on our stunning 350+ acre pine tree sanctuary in the heart of Colorado.
We are offering three distinct camps this summer to serve different age groups:
- Grand Camp (Ages 5-12 with a Grandparent, June 27-29): This intergenerational camp invites families to experience the beauty of nature together. Children, ages 5-12, are invited to attend with their grandparents, creating cherished memories and bonding through activities designed for both generations to enjoy.
- Explorer Camp (Grades 3-6, July 6-12): This camp is designed to ignite curiosity and adventure, helping younger kids explore nature, build friendships, and discover new ways of connecting with the world around them.
- Voyager Faith & Science Camp (Grades 6-8, July 13-19): This camp combines faith and science in a unique way that encourages exploration, discovery, and personal growth.
- Music, Art, Drama, Dance (MADD) Camp (Grades 9-12, July 13-19): Our MADD Camp offers teens the chance to explore their creative potential through music, art, drama, and dance, while also deepening their faith and connection to others.
Our camp programs are not just about fun—they are about igniting the spirit, fostering new friendships, and creating life-changing experiences. Through outdoor adventure, team-building activities, and intentional community engagement, your youth will discover the power of rest, reflection, and connection to something greater than themselves.
To make camp accessible to everyone, regardless of ability to pay, we offer camperships in any amount needed. Thanks to generous donors and the support of some of the Associations of the RMC, we have the opportunity to make camp financially feasible for any family.
We would love for the youth in your congregation to join us this summer at The Refuge. Together, we can help them tap into their full potential, offering them a safe and nurturing space where they can grow in mind, body, and spirit.
We would be thrilled to discuss how we can partner with your church in empowering the youth in your community through our programs. If you have any questions or would like more information, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Thank you for considering this opportunity for your youth. We look forward to the possibility of welcoming them into our community at The Refuge at La Foret this summer.
Warm regards,
Rev. Logan Bennett
