| Juniper Formation, a new church start in Denver, is the newest RMC Open and Affirming Congregation! We recently sent their pastor, The Rev. Dr. Jenny Whitcher, and the church membership a message to confirm their certification. Their ONA Covenant, adopted on November 11, 2018, reads: “Juniper Formation is invested in shared liberation and disrupting the cornerstones of oppression; and committed to radical love and justice for the diversity of God’s creation, especially the marginalized and oppressed. Our church and is womxn-led, multiethnic, and antiracist, affirming of undocumented neighbors, celebrating different abilities, and Open & Affirming of LGBTQ+ individuals and families in the life and leadership of our church. We are centering the margins of the Church.” Juniper Formation is now part of the largest and fastest-growing LGBTQ-affirming church movement in the world! We’re grateful for the leadership and hard work that led to this day. The church has been added to the ONA map at www.openandaffirming.org/find, and we’re notifying the UCC’s CARD Team who will assure their ONA status will also appear on the UCC website. In the coming months, we’ll celebrate them as a new member of our ONA family on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and in our email newsletter, RIPPLES.
