Wednesday evening, we received notification from Rev. Christina Braudaway-Bauman (First Cong. Boulder) about the passing of Rev. W. Bruce MacKenzie earlier this week. Rev. MacKenzie was the Pastor Emeritus of First Congregational UCC in Boulder, and a well-known and well-loved figure in the Rocky Mountain Conference. He will be greatly missed, and we extend our deepest sympathies and love to his family, friends, and anyone else who was in his sphere of influence.
Rev. Braudaway-Bauman tells us that “a service of worship in celebration and in memory of Bruce’s life and ministry will be held at First Congregational Church UCC of Boulder on Sunday, January 29, at 1:30 p.m., followed by a reception at the church. His memorial service will be held the same weekend as the MacKenzie Lectureship, an event and endowment created in honor of Bruce and his wife Jeanette in thanksgiving for their magnificent service to the church and the wider community.”
This year, the Mackenzie Lectureship will feature author and speaker Dr. Diana Butler Bass. If you’d like to learn more and possibly attend the Lectureship, you can learn more on the event’s invitation page.
Blessings and Hope,
Your Rocky Mountain Conference Staff
