Announcing Our New Associate Conference Minister!

Love of the Rocky Mountain Conference and its people.
Knowledge of and passion for church vitality.
A heart for relationship building.
Authenticity and integrity.
A quiet but powerful spiritual presence.

These are but a few of the qualities that persuaded the Associate Conference Minister Search Committee to recommend Reverend Erin Gilmore as the new Associate Conference Minister for the Rocky Mountain Conference. Upon the recommendation of Conference Minister Rev. Sue Artt, the RMC Board of Directors (absent Erin) affirmed that choice in a specially called meeting on February 4.

Currently, Rev. Gilmore serves as Senior Pastor of Loveland UCC in Loveland, CO. Prior, she served as Senior Pastor of Holladay UCC in Holladay (Salt Lake City), Utah. Working with other Conference leaders, Rev. Gilmore was instrumental in re-imagining and reshaping the RMC’s Annual Meeting to be the more generative event it is today. She currently serves on the RMC Board, although her position on the Board will conclude upon her first day as Associate Conference Minister.

The challenge of choosing between 16 highly qualified candidates, many with extremely impressive work experience and credentials, proved to be both a difficult and meaningful task for the committee. In addition to the above-named qualities, Rev. Gilmore’s relationship with the Western and Intermountain Associations, combined with her knowledge of the Conference as a whole, proved to be valuable strengths.

A transition team is being formed to help pull together all the different pieces of this newly defined and structured position. Reverend Gilmore will begin her new ministry on May 15.

The Rocky Mountain Conference sincerely thanks the Search Committee for its efficient, effective, and Spirit-led work! Its members were:

  • Judith Baillie, Christ Congregational UCC, Pueblo, CO (Chairperson)
  • Reverend Sue Artt, Conference Minister
  • David Bristow, Vista Grande UCC, Colorado Springs, CO (Southeastern Association)

  • Reverend Karen Winkel, Community Spirit UCC, Montrose, CO (Western Association)

Faithfully,
Your Board of Directors
