On November 12, the Colorado Council of Churches released an ecumenical statement on hunger and homelessness in recognition of National Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week. The Rocky Mountain Conference is proud to have signed the statement, along with several other local denominational conferences and churches.
While this statement comes from a Colorado-based organization, we know that homelessness, hunger, and affordable housing are huge issues across our Conference. From Kanab to Laramie to Colorado Springs, our churches are doing powerful work to end this systematic disparity.
To find out what you can do to support this cause, reach out to your local UCC church, donate to/volunteer with a local food bank or shelter, and urge your local representatives to make tackling hunger and homelessness a priority.
You can read the full statement on the Colorado Council of Churches’ website.
