“Preaching in Advent” Planning Retreats for Clergy

Does Advent get a jump on you instead of you getting a jump on it?

Do you feel so frazzled from fall programming and stewardship campaigns that it’s hard to be excited about Advent themes of expectation and anticipation of new life and light? Is it tough to find that stillness within yourself as you prompt others to do so?

Get a jump-start on sermon preparation and stories for Advent 2016: Attend the 2016 “Preaching in Advent” Planning Retreat and be fully prepared for the Advent Season! Registrants may attend the online retreat on either October 27 OR November 10, 2016. Retreats on both days will go from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (MT).

Led by Rev. Jane Anne Ferguson—Preacher, Storyteller, and Acting Associate Minister at Plymouth Congregational in Ft. Collins—this 4½-hour online and interactive retreat includes four prep lessons using Revised Common Lectionary texts in the 10 days leading up to the day of your retreat. Upon completing the retreat, you will have an outlined plan for your Advent preaching with a list of Advent stories and poems to use in worship.
