Oct 15 / 16: From Privilege to Promise at UCC Longmont

UCC Longmont and Mind & Soul invite you to attend the From Privilege to Promise Symposium on October 15 and 16, 2016. Attendees will enjoy dynamic and inspiring presentations from international and local voices on inclusivity and diversity, with opportunities to learn how to move toward greater understanding and active involvement.

This two-day event begins on Saturday, October 15 with an opening ceremony and blessing, and continues with a keynote address and workshop by Lee Mun Wah, an internationally renowned Chinese-American documentary filmmaker, author, poet, Asian folkteller, educator, community therapist, and master diversity trainer.

We will then enjoy breakout sessions with local community leaders including Public Safety Chief Mike Butler and Dan Benavidez; Carmen Ramirez—City of Longmont Community Neighborhood Resources; Bill Ellis and Les Smith; and Jessica Goldberg—Longmont Community Justice. Saturday’s events finish with the Documentary Last Chance for Eden with Director Lee Mun Wah. Throughout the weekend, there will be a self-directed Oral History Exhibit presented by the UCC Longmont Ignite Youth Group.

There is no cost for the event, but space is limited, and registration is required.
