We invite you to begin a restorative justice journey with our Sacred Conversations to End Racism (SC2ER) Facilitator Workshop this October in Denver! The workshop will be led by Rev. Velda Love, Minister of Racial Justice for the United Church of Christ.

What?

Rev. Velda Love will visit the RMC to guide clergy and lay-leaders as they learn to successfully present the UCC’s Sacred Conversations to End Racism curriculum in their own congregations. Read more about the curriculum here.

Future facilitators will be introduced to historical and contemporary resources that are developed from cultural perspectives that are African, Caribbean, African American, Asian/Pan-Asian/Pacific Islander, Latinx, Native American, and other Indigenous people groups. You can read a full overview of the training here.

Why?

So that we are empowered to hold sacred and vital discussions on race and racism in our churches, thereby impacting our values and informing our ministries.

Who?

We heartily encourage anyone passionate about social and racial justice to attend, so that they may become leaders on this important discussion in their own faith community.

When?

Friday, October 12 from 9am to 4pm (lunch provided) & Saturday, October 13 from 9am to 1pm (breakfast provided). Attendees from out of town should plan on coordinating their own lodging.

Where?

Berkeley Community Church in Denver

How much?

Registration is $25 per individual, or $50 per church (churches may send as many people as they’d like). Please note that if you are registering as part of a church group, you will not be charged when you register, but you must ensure that your church remits the $50 payment!
