SUMMARY:Interfaith Vigil: Standing with Immigrants
DESCRIPTION:You and members of your faith community are invited to participate in a peaceful interfaith vigil in support of immigrant lives\, on Monday May 12\, from 6 – 7 pm in front of the GEO Detention Center\, 3130 N. Oakland St. in Aurora.  The vigil is part of a quarterly vigil series sponsored by American Friends Service Committee/Coloradans for Immigrant Rights and Interfaith Immigration Network.  There will be music\, brief addresses by Jewish and Christian faith leaders\, and presentations by individuals whose families have been shaken by deportations and threats of deportation.  The theme  of the vigil will be interfaith support for immigrant families around Mother’s Day.  This is an important way for people of faith to stand up publicly for fair and humane treatment of our immigrant neighbors in our communities. \n
