SUMMARY:Boundary Awareness Training 3.0: Rural and Small Town Clergy
DESCRIPTION: Thursday\, May 7\, 2026 at 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM ET — REGISTER HERE!\n\nThese trainings are for seasoned clergy who have already taken a 2.0 BAT. Often focused on a specific ministry experience\, participants will practice new skills and workshop case studies with colleagues. We are currently developing this level of classes. \n\n\nRural & Small Town Clergy BAT ~ This explores what is unique (and not) about serving in a rural or small town setting and what particular practices encourage strong and healthy ministry.\n\n\nGood professional boundaries allow ministry and those who do it to thrive with health and wholeness. Through the lens of clergy wellness\, authorized ministers will renew their understanding of and develop skills for maintaining boundaries in an ever-shifting ministry landscape. \n\n\nThe cost for the training is: SNEUCC Clergy – $65.00; all other Clergy – $85.00. \n\n\nIf you have questions regarding the training please contact Deb Holmes at holmesd@sneucc.org or 508-244-4399. All trainings are listed in Eastern Time. \n\n\nClass Details\n\nPlease note that registration closes 7 days before the session so that participants have ample time to do the pre-work\, and classes are capped at 50 participants\n\nOur Boundary Awareness Trainings combine teaching\, skill building\, small group discussion and personal reflection for a dynamic and collaborative experience. All levels of BAT are in alignment with best practices from the UCC\, other denominations and secular professions. Breaks (and lunch when a full day) are included.\n\nWe incorporate clergy wellness in all our trainings. Why? Ministry is rewarding; it can also be stressful and demanding. Recent surveys have shown a significant increase in clergy burnout and desire to leave ministry. Clergy whose personal needs are not met in healthy and appropriate ways tend to blur\, push or violate ministerial boundaries. A survey of clergy done by Rev. Dr. Jerry Streets found that “clergy who engaged in multiple and frequent self-care strategies experienced higher well-being than that clergy who did not engage in multiple and frequent self-care strategies.” We care about our clergy; we want them to be healthy and whole\, for the sake of their ministries and their own belovedness.\n\nPlease check with your Association’s Committee on Ministry to inquire whether these trainings meet their requirement for maintaining UCC ministerial standing. You will receive a certificate of completion after the training; it is your responsibility to share this with your Association. \n\nWhy Clergy Wellness?\n\nMinistry is rewarding; it can also be stressful and demanding. The last few years have only increased that likelihood. Recent surveys have shown a significant increase in clergy burnout and desire to leave ministry. Clergy whose personal needs are not met in healthy and appropriate ways tend to push and violate ministerial boundaries. A survey of clergy done by Rev. Dr. Jerry Streets found that “clergy who engaged in multiple and frequent self-care strategies experienced higher well-being than that clergy who did not engage in multiple and frequent self-care strategies.” We care about our clergy; we want them to be healthy and whole\, for the sake of their ministries and their own belovedness.\n\nWhat Participants Have Said\n\n“The Boundary Training was superb! It was not only highly informative\, but most importantly\, you gave abundant tools for growing into more effective leaders. Learning about the connection between good self-care and maintaining the best of healthy boundaries is clearly at the heart of strong ministry.”\n“This is the best boundary training I have ever attended. It was incredibly helpful to have a focus on mindfulness.”\n“It’s a relief not to sit through the “same old” training.”\n“While I was not happy to hear that I needed to have the training again at this time\, I would report that I understand even better why it is necessary and encourage the church to continue to require it.”\n“The care and modeling by the leaders of the training showing a respect\, dignity\, seriousness\, humanness and professional skill to which we all aspire.”

SUMMARY:Culturally Responsive Ministry Training (CRMT) on Race -- May 2026 Session
DESCRIPTION:You are invited to Culturally Responsive Ministry Training (CRMT) on Race\, a six-hour learning experience designed to give pastors a better understanding of the importance of culture as we strive to better communicate a message of God’s love and acceptance for all. The CRMT on Race provides pastors with the tools to be more culturally responsive not just to new people exploring our churches for the first time\, but also to long-standing members who come from various cultural backgrounds. The training concludes by breaking participants into racial affinity groups where white folks learn about the deep impact of microaggressions on our siblings of color\, while people of color have the opportunity to check in about their ministry in a predominantly white denomination\, and the impact of race/racism on it.  \nThis training will be split between two evenings: Monday\, May 18th at 4-7PM MDT\, and Friday\, May 22nd at 4-7PM MDT. Please click here to register via Zeffy. \nPlease note that these sessions will happen via Zoom. You will be emailed a Zoom link plus additional information the week before your session.

SUMMARY:Racial Justice for Authorized Ministers & Lay Leaders – Renewal – Practicing Antiracism Together
DESCRIPTION:June 6th\, 2026: Racial Justice for Authorized Ministers & Lay Leaders – Renewal – Practicing Antiracism Together \n\n\n\nIn this 8-hour workshop\, participants and facilitators will co-create brave space and practice embodying anti-racism within ourselves and in ministry/church settings. Learning modalities and topics covered include: \n\nPre-assigned reading and reflection;\nRecognizing embodied feelings and utilizing somatic self-soothing;\nActive discussion and small group work\, with particular attention to one’s relationship to conflict and utilizing feedback and confrontation for growing in anti-racism;\nExploration of participants’ personal experiences and ministry settings\, utilizing concepts such as microaggression\, white supremacy culture\, power and authority;\nIdentifying tools and lessons to bring back to one’s ministry setting.\n\nAll participants should have participated in a racial justice training within the last 3 years\, whether the SNEUCC Foundations program or a similar offering from another organization. \nThis training includes required pre-work\, both reading and engaging in a response. Earlier offerings of this training included a dense history section in a primarily lecture format. Responding to participant feedback\, we are shifting that material to pre-reading so that we can focus training time on digesting this material and making it relevant to you and your ministry setting. Your attention to the pre-work will affect your and your colleagues’ learning\, so making adequate time for this work is appreciated. You will receive detailed instructions about this assignment about one month prior to the training date.  This email will come from transform@sneucc.org (Center for Transformational Leadership). \nThis is an interactive workshop that requires active participation throughout\, including through self-reflection and writing\, small group discussion\, and large group engagement.  Please be sure you are in a setting that allows for this.  Please note\, attendance and participation in the full session is required to receive a certificate. \nJune 6\, 2026\n8:30 am – 5:30 pm EST\nThis workshop will be hosted via Zoom. \nRegistration closes on June 1\, 2026 \nThe standard cost of this program is $230 for Authorized Ministers and $115 for Laity. Participants from within the Southern New England Conference UCC pay a discounted rate of $175 for Authorized Ministers and $89 for Laity made possible through Proportional Giving to Our Church’s Wider Mission\, individual donors\, and other gifts to the Southern New England Conference.  The rate for SNEUCC Members in Discernment is $59. \nYou may pay online at the completion of this registration form. If you are paying by check\, please contact Amanda Martin (MartinA@sneucc.org) and send payment to SNEUCC\, Attn. CTL\, 805 Old Main St.\, Rocky Hill CT 06067. All registration fees must be paid by close of registration. Refunds are not available once registration has closed.

SUMMARY:Voyager Faith & Science Camp
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the second year of Voyager Faith & Science Camp! At Voyager Camp\, youth are given the opportunity to be their truest selves and build a community of authenticity and support\, which is often elusive around the preteen years in school. \nSpirituality and science have for too long been seen as opposite ends of a spectrum\, when really they are more like two lenses through which we can view the mystery and majesty of the universe. Albert Einstein said that the more he studied the universe the more he believed in a higher power. When you really get into the coolest and most cutting edge science\, you can’t help but stand back in awe at the magic of it all! But don’t worry\, all the fun and exploration built through generations of camp will still be there! \nTrained counselors and staff will set the stage and hold space for a memorable week filled with laughter\, music\, reflection\, self-exploration\, and don’t forget the ropes course! Youth will form memories and friendships they’ll hold dear for the rest of their lives. \nTiered Pricing. Camperships available in any needed amount! Please visit this page to learn more and register.

SUMMARY:Music\, Art\, Drama\, and Dance (MADD) Camp
DESCRIPTION:Music\, Art\, Drama\, and Dance (MADD) Camp is an amazing week of intentional community and creativity. We believe that the arts and creative expression are incredible tools for experiencing and growing in our spirituality. ALL artistic skill-levels (really!) are present and welcome at MADD Camp. Along with engaging youth in intellectual faith conversations\, we attempt to get youth “out of their heads” and into experiencing God (or the Holy\, Divine\, or transcendent) through creativity\, nature\, friendships\, self-discovery\, games\, activities\, and LOTS of fun. We find these moments to be the most powerful in helping young people to develop a lifelong faith\, and a foundation of belief in themselves. \nLike all of our camps and retreats for youth\, MADD is an expansively welcoming and open environment. Trained staff help guide youth in engaging with their spirituality on their terms. The Refuge camps and retreats create a safe\, brave space where youth can ask questions\, explore their faith\, and connect more deeply to themselves\, each other\, the earth\, and the Holy- whatever that means to them. \nTiered Pricing. Camperships available in any needed amount! Please visit this page to learn more and register.
