SUMMARY:Boundary Awareness Training for Ministers in Specialized Settings (MESA)
DESCRIPTION:Boundary Awareness Training for Ministers in Specialized Settings (via Zoom) \nRegister here: https://ucc.zoom.us/meeting/register/Bj-t5AxdT6iE1xbIi9u_GA#/registration \n\n\n\n\n\n\nNovember 9th\, 2026 04:00 PM Mountain Time via Zoom\n\n\nPresented by the UCC’s Ministerial Excellence\, Support & Authorization Team (MESA)\n\nThis training\, hosted by Revs. Tara Barber and Anissa Glaser-Bacon\, is open to ministers serving in specialized settings throughout the United Church of Christ. Serving in specialized settings requires particular attention to boundaries within the ministry setting and home church that are challenging and different from those serving as local church pastors. This training will focus on matters that relate specifically to issues that these ministers face\, providing opportunities for clergy to reflect on best practices and growth in their practice of ministry.

SUMMARY:US/Mexico Borderlands Delegation
DESCRIPTION:Rev. Dr. Tracy L. Hughes of Mountain View United Church in Aurora\, CO is leading a delegation to the US/Mexico borderlands this Fall. To apply\, please click here. The application deadline is September 15th\, 2026. To learn more about this opportunity\, please keep reading or visit cpt.org/delegations/borderlands \nDespite a more than 90% drop in the number of migrant apprehensions at the border since President Donald Trump took office\, people continue to try to reach the United States through ever-more dangerous routes.  Increased border security pushes migrants to cross through more remote and risky areas of the desert.  The remains of 154 migrants were found in the Arizona desert in 2024 with 40 more in the first 5 months of 2025. \nCome\, witness firsthand the impact of immigration enforcement in the US/Mexico borderlands where foreign policy masquerades as domestic\, and where life and death decisions are imposed upon our migrant neighbors\, placing them in vulnerable and volatile situations. Journey through this gauntlet of the Sonoran Desert\, part of the lethal continuum that our migrant siblings traverse to reach the fields\, factories and detention centers of the USA.  Come to observe\, query\, discern\, contribute\, learn and take home the story of human struggle and hope. \n\nDelegation participants will visit with people on both sides of the border who are concerned about migrant justice.  Learning experiences may include visits to migrant shelters\, cooperatives\, and humanitarian workers in several border towns\, meeting with Border Patrol officers\, participating in a weekly vigil to remember people who have died in the desert\, walking a migrant trail\, and a possible day trip to the sacred Apache land of Oak Flat. \nDelegation date: October 31 – November 10 \nCost: USD $1\,200.\nApplication deadline: September 15\, 2026 \nThe delegation begins and ends in Tucson\, Arizona.  \nDelegates must carry a valid passport and be able to travel back and forth across the US/Mexico border multiple times.  The $1200 delegation contribution covers all on-the-ground travel\, simple accommodations\, two to three meals a day\, honorariums\, and other delegation costs.  It does not include travel to the delegation site\, health insurance\, or applicable visa fees. \nVisa Requirement: Before applying for the delegation\, please check if you need a visa or a pre-approved electronic travel authorization. Make sure to confirm the length of time required to apply for a visa and all requirements with the concerned embassy or consulate in your country\, or the government’s website. \nReady to apply? Go to cpt.org/delegations/apply

SUMMARY:Antoinette Brown Society Annual Leadership Event
DESCRIPTION:The Antoinette Brown Society\, formed in 2015\, carries on the tradition of the Antoinette Brown Award in honoring pioneers and innovators in our midst: new church start pastors\, military chaplains\, seminary deans\, ecumenical leaders\, pastors\, preachers\, evangelists\, and more. \n Each year\, clergy women from all across the country gather to celebrate the legacy of Antoinette Brown as well as the work of UCC women clergy. \nThe National setting of the UCC has sent a special request to clergy women in the western region of the UCC: We are hopeful that we can increase our western region representation at this\, both with lay authorized ministers – and with ordained clergy womxn. \nEach conference has been invited to send one or more to our Antoinette Brown Society gathering. In addition\, we have been able to secure extra rooms for the night preceding the event (Sept 28)\, which should help our western region folks get there! \nThe early bird rates have been extended through Friday (July 24). We still have scholarship funds available! \nThis year’s ABS Clergywomxn* Leadership Event\, “Rooted\, Restored and Rising” will be held 9/29-10/2 at the Stateview Hotel\, 2451 Alumni Drive in Raleigh\, North Carolina. \nThe link to register can be found on the website:  http://www.ucc.org/antoinette-brown-society with more details.

DESCRIPTION:2026 STEWARDSHIP WEBINARS\nWebinars offered from 6:30 to 7:30pm Central Time \nSept. 23 – Gen Z and Generosity\nhttps://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/VirSn3JSQkOIdedN1bvRjA\nMost churches can have up to five generations of people present in them. Studies show that there is a diversity in the way generations approach generosity. A “one size fits all” approach to engaging givers will fall short if it does not account for those differences. Join Rev. Bonnie Bates in a conversation about generational variety in giving patterns with a particular focus on reaching members of Gen Z.

SUMMARY:Application Deadline for Youth Leadership Cohort
DESCRIPTION:The application for the Youth Leadership Cohort is now open! Apply here by September 15th\, 2026 \n  \nWHO: High school youth who are engaged in their local UCC church and desire to gain leadership skills that will impact their church context. Youth\, do you have ideas about what your generation (Gen Z/Gen Alpha) might want to see from their church? Leaders\, do you have a youth who is an incredible leader of your youth group or of your church context? If you answered yes\, then you have what we are looking for! \nWHAT: We want to build a cohort of young leaders across the conference to support one another as they offer leadership to their local churches and to the wider Rocky Mountain Conference. Each youth will be asked to identify a project they want  to take on that will help their church\, and our cohort will be guided through creating a project plan\, implementing their project\, and assessing that project through the course of the 2026-2027 program year. This cohort will culminate in a presentation during our RMC Annual Celebration in 2027. Here are some ideas of what your project may look like: \n\nWorship: You have creative ideas about music or liturgy. You want to create a whole worship service to show your church what kind of worship engages your generation.\nCommunications & outreach: Your church website or social media needs some updating\, and you know how to create an authentic representation of your church in digital contexts.\nJustice-work: You have a passion for a particular need in the community and want to connect your church with community partners to address it.\nCommunity-building: You have ideas about how to build belonging in your context. You want to help your church step up their hospitality game.\n\nWHY: We believe our youth are both the future of our church and key members and leaders currently in our midst. From research on adolescent religiosity\, we know that youth who are engaged in church leadership go on to be adults engaged in church and activism. We also know that churches with active youth leadership tend to be flourishing and vital congregations. Empowering youth empowers everyone!  \nWHEN: The following events are required. Please see the timeline below: \nRECURRING: Monthly check-ins and progress reports. Dates & times will be established during our Zoom Orientation. \nApplications will close on September 15\, 2026. Apply here! \nSelected youth will move on to schedule an intake interview. \nFinal selections will be made by September 30\, 2026. \nNovember 15\, 2026: Zoom Orientation from 2 to 5 PM. \nJan 15-16\, 2027: Leadership retreat at La Foret Conference & Retreat Center. \nJUNE/JULY DATE TBD: Rocky Mountain Conference Annual Celebration at La Foret
