Racial Justice for Authorized Ministers – Renewal – Practicing Antiracism Together

March 17March 18

March 17-18th, 2026: Racial Justice for Authorized Ministers – Renewal – Practicing Antiracism Together

In this 8-hour workshop, participants and facilitators will co-create brave space and practice embodying anti-racism within ourselves and in ministry/church settings. Learning modalities and topics covered include:

  • Pre-assigned reading and reflection;
  • Recognizing embodied feelings and utilizing somatic self-soothing;
  • Active discussion and small group work, with particular attention to one’s relationship to conflict and utilizing feedback and confrontation for growing in anti-racism;
  • Exploration of participants’ personal experiences and ministry settings, utilizing concepts such as microaggression, white supremacy culture, power and authority;
  • Identifying tools and lessons to bring back to one’s ministry setting.

This is an 8-hour Racial Justice Training for Authorized Ministers, designed for people who have attended Racial Justice training in the Southern New England Conference within the past 3 years.  As a Renewal training, participants should have had racial justice within the past 3 years — if not a SNEUCC training, please contact Noah Brewer-Wallin to discuss your situation. If you need to take the Foundations workshop, please visit https://www.sneucc.org/racial-justice-workshops for additional offerings.

This training includes required pre-work, both reading and engaging in a response. Your attention to the pre-work will affect your and your colleagues’ learning, so making adequate time for this work is appreciated. You will receive detailed instructions about this assignment about one month prior to the training date.

This is an interactive workshop that requires active participation throughout, including through self-reflection and writing, small group discussion, and large group engagement.  Please be sure you are in a setting that allows for this.  Please note, attendance and participation in the full session is required to receive a certificate.
