Community UCC in Boulder raises over $20,000 in 2019 CROP Hunger Walk

CROP Hunger Walks are community-wide events sponsored by Church World Service and organized by local congregations or groups to raise funds to end hunger at home and around the world.

It was a sunny, windy day in Longmont for the CROP Hunger Walk this year. 33 people from Community UCC in South Boulder braved the blustery winds to raise $10,840 for Church World Service and Community Food Share (our local food pantry gets 24% of the total). This amazing money raised by our church was made possible largely by an incredible gift from Robb Lapp in memory of his wife Janet, who always supported CROP Hunger Walks through many years, and participated in all the communities in which Robb and Janet lived. This matching gift built a fire under all of us and we far exceeded our usual efforts. Team CUCC Walkers total now stands at $20,840. Wow!

The walk was hosted by the Westview Presbyterian Church in Longmont and the Boulder County CROP Hunger Walk has raised $42,293 as a whole.
