Celebrating the Life & Legacy of Janet Lapp

Dear Rocky Mountain Conference Family:

It is with a heavy heart that we tell you that our beloved Janet Lapp—member of Community UCC in Boulder, pillar of our shared ministry, and wife of Rev. Robb Lapp—passed away last night (Sept. 19) just before 8 pm. We received the news this morning in a message from Rev. JoAnne Bogart, Registrar for the Metropolitan Denver Association, and we share those details with you here.

Last Thursday, Janet (an Alzheimer’s patient) suffered a fall at the home she shared with Robb in Arvada. Due to her severe injuries—and to honor her expressed wishes—Robb and their family transferred Janet to Collier Hospice, located on the Lutheran Hospital campus in Wheat Ridge.

Robb stayed with Janet throughout the day yesterday, with several other friends and family there as well. She passed away peacefully, knowing she was much loved and cared for by family, friends, and her church family at Community UCC in Boulder.

Please keep Robb, Aubrey, Karen, Joel, Stuart, and the extended Lapp family in your thoughts and prayers during these most difficult days. A memorial service is being planned for late October; once the arrangements have been made, we will share the details with you.

To quote JoAnne Bogart’s touching message to Janet:

“Well done, Good and Faithful Servant. We’ll remember you always.”
