During worship on March 29, 2017, Rev. Rick Danielson and the congregation of Community UCC in Boulder formally honored Rev. Dr. Pete Terpenning with the title of “Pastor Emeritus.” Pete, who is still an active member of the church, served as the congregation’s pastor from 2001-2013.

During Pete’s leadership, the church saw several new members, many of whom still attend, as well as overall growth. “Our church grew significantly; [we] increased our outreach, adopted our peace with justice covenant, and developed contemplative worship practices under Pete’s leadership,” says Rev. Danielson, the current pastor.

Pete is a paradigm example of a leader whose positive impact still echoes in the community he served. His kindness, leadership, and willingness help are just a few reasons why the Rocky Mountain Conference is lucky to have him in our midst.

Congratulations to Pete, Rick, and Community UCC!
