Lectureship at Plymouth UCC Begins This Weekend!

Plymouth UCC in Ft. Collins, CO is once again hosting an incredible Lectureship as part of their Annual Visiting Scholar Lectureship Series. Wherever you are in the RMC, you are invited to attend! The details are below, and you can view, print, and download a colorful flyer for the event here.

“Re-Reading the Bible for Life in Today’s World”
A Weekend of Lectures with Dr. Gerald West & Rev. Beverley Haddad
University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa

Annual Visiting Scholar Lectures
At Plymouth Congregational UCC
916 W Prospect Rd., Fort Collins, CO
Nov. 3–5 and Nov. 9

Growing out of the struggle against Apartheid in South Africa, and their work in marginalized communities, Dr. West and Rev. Haddad have developed Contextual Bible Study as a tool for liberation. It is a way for everyday readers of the Bible to do close readings of the text in light of modern scholarship, not as a hunt for “way back when,” but as a living document applicable now.

Registration is $75 (individual sessions and student/low-income rates also available), and the full schedule can be found here.
