Annual Meeting

Resolutions

The delegates at General Synod 27, June 2009, in Grand Rapids, MI voted to change the Constitution and Bylaws of the United Church of Christ.  Proposed changes to the
UCC Constitution approved by GS 27 now need to be ratified by 2/3 of the Conferences prior to GS 28, June 2011.  These changes reflect four years of work by the Ministry Issues Implementation Committee (MIIC)
whose assignment was to give body to:  The Pronouncement adopted by General Synod 25 “Ministry Issues: Forming and Preparing Pastoral Leaders for God’s Church.”  The MIIC work resulted in a need to modify
the Constitution and By-Laws of the United Church of Christ.  These proposed changes were received, amended, and approved by GS 27.

Only the constitutional changes need to be ratified by the Conferences.  No action is needed on the Bylaws.  The Bylaws are included here as additional information related to the constitutional changes.  Please note that the vote at our Annual Meeting is simply “yes” or “no.”  We can not make any changes to these documents.
