Staff
Conference Minister: Tom Rehling (tom@rmcucc.org)
As Conference Minister Tom has responsibility for oversight, leadership, and strategic planning for the Rocky Mountain Conference. He serves the mission of the RMC and ministers to the needs of our clergy and churches, works with local church search committees, and helps us connect to the wider church mission and ministries of the UCC.
Associate Conference Minister: David K. Popham (david@rmcucc.org)
David works with the Conference Minister to serve the mission of the RMC and minister to the needs of our clergy and churches. He has primary responsibility for our youth ministries, camps, and retreats. He has developed excellent skills in the process of Appreciative Inquiry which is particularly helpful with churches seeking to work on self-identity, visioning, or long range planning.
Administrative Assistant / Bookkeeper: Lorraine Elsen (lorraine@rmcucc.org)
In addition to administrative assistant and bookkeeping duties, Lorraine is responsible for compiling the Yearbook statistics of the RMCUCC churches. She works closely with the Board of Directors and Finance Committee and is the go-to person for our association registrars, and church financial/admin personnel. Lorraine also assists the Conference and Associate Conference Ministers with processing ministerial profiles as well as coordinating the activities and calendar for space usage in our office. Lorraine is also liaison to our vendors/contractors, etc.
Communication Director: Chance Percival (chance@rmcucc.org)
Chance Percival is our part-time Director of Communications here at the RMCUCC. He maintains the rmcucc.org website and handles all of the electronic communication within the conference. Chance also takes care of all of the RMCUCC graphic needs; anything from flyers for events to posters and brochures for the Summer Camps.
Associate Conference Minister for Clergy Support:
Jean Wade (jeanwade2@q.com)
Jean is a part time staff member who lives in the Salt Lake City area. Her ministry is focused on offering pastoral support to the UCC clergy in Wyoming and Utah.
Assistant Conference Minister for Situational Support:
Tracey Dawson (tracey.dawson@yahoo.com)
Tracey serves the RMC on an “as needed” basis. She is available to offer pastoral leadership for up to 8 weeks for churches in transition or emergency situations. As our Conference Attorney, Tracey is licensed to practice law in Colorado and willing to consult with our churches in Wyoming and Utah.
Extending East to West From the Great Plains...
Over the Rocky Mountains and Continental Divide to the High Desert with vast stretches of rugged beauty in between - from north to south through mountains, deserts, farms and ranch lands, mines and destinations for tourists, cities and towns - the conference covers all of Colorado and Utah, and most of Wyoming. The Rocky Mountain Conference is geographically the largest conference in the United Church of Christ.
The 82 churches making up the Conference are as diverse as the terrain, ranging from relatively large (1,460 members) to quite small (9 members), and from theologically liberal to theologically conservative - often within the same congregation. The congregations are rural, urban and suburban in their various locations.
