The Rocky Mountain Conference is a faith community of over 77 UCC congregations in Colorado, Utah and Wyoming who support and nurture one another in local and wider ministry and mission, in the name of Jesus Christ. We are an open and welcoming denomination that proclaims the Gospel of Jesus Christ, celebrates diversity, honors the gifts of all people and seeks justice and peace for all. The Rocky Mountain Conference exists to inform, challenge, and empower faith and justice communities across the West.
Acting Conference Minister: Rev. Sue Artt (email@example.com)
As Acting Conference Minister, Sue has responsibility for guiding, leading and encouraging the Conference to live out Christ’s call to service, mission and ministry here in the Rocky Mountains. Alongside the RMC Board, Sue will help the Conference complete the re-visioning process begun at the June 2013 annual meeting, and will provide spiritual and administrative support for the Conference until the permanent Conference Minister is called.
Acting Associate Conference Minister: Rev. Tamara Boynton (firstname.lastname@example.org)
Tamara Boynton works with the Conference Minister to serve the mission of the RMC and minister to the needs of our clergy and churches. She has primary responsibility for our youth ministries, camps, and retreats. She has developed excellent skills in the process of Appreciative Inquiry which is particularly helpful with churches seeking to work on self-identity, visioning, or long range planning.
Director of Communication Ministries: Cory Kibler (email@example.com)
Cory Kibler works with Conference staff and churches to effectively communicate timely and relevant information. His responsibilities include creating Conference messaging, web updates, the RoMoCo Newsletter, managing social media, marketing and promoting upcoming camps and events, and doing everything he can to ensure that the RMC and its churches are radically connected.
Office Manager / Coordinator: Lisa Callahan (firstname.lastname@example.org)
With more than 30 years of administrative experience, Lisa oversees the Conference's bookkeeping, payroll, records, human resources, clergy relations, meeting coordination, purchasing, and much more. Involved in almost every Conference-office process, her organization and expertise tie the office together.
Extending East to West From the Great Plains...
Over the Rocky Mountains and Continental Divide to the High Desert with vast stretches of rugged beauty in between - from north to south through mountains, deserts, farms and ranch lands, mines and destinations for tourists, cities and towns - the conference covers all of Colorado and Utah, and most of Wyoming. The Rocky Mountain Conference is geographically the largest conference in the United Church of Christ.
The 77 churches making up the Conference are as diverse as the terrain, ranging from relatively large (1,460 members) to quite small (9 members), and from theologically liberal to theologically conservative - often within the same congregation. The congregations are rural, urban and suburban in their various locations.
